The Tulsa Oilers defeated the Allen Americans 2-0 on Tuesday night despite Allen goaltender Joel Rumpel having a 41-save performance. The Oilers rode the hot hands of forward Dan DeSalvo and goaltender Kevin Carr to victory.
The Oilers opened up scoring 9:40 into the game when Ben Walker pushed a net-mouth scramble into the goal to give him six on the year. The scramble was setup by a shot from Jordan Kremyr who returned to the lineup tonight. Forward Brady Ramsay was credited with the other assist.
Tulsa would score the only other goal of the game 2:10 into the second period. Dan Desalvo scored his 11th goal of the season off of a wrist shot from the top of the circles on the power play. Dennis Brown and Phil Brewer had the helpers.
Carr’s 25-save shutout was his third shutout on the season, tying his career high.
DeSalvo’s goal gives him 10 points in his last six games.
The Oilers will play the Americans again on Friday, January 29 in Allen. The Americans will return to the BOK Center on Saturday, January 30 where youth jerseys will be handed out to the first 1,000 fans (ages 12 and under) courtesy of York Plumbing.
