OILERS SIGN ROOKIE FORWARD CONNOR BRAMWELL, RELEASE ANDREW SHEWFELT
Oilers sign University of Guelph product Connor Bramwell
TULSA, OK —The Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and the AHL’s San Diego Gulls, announced Wednesday the signing of rookie forward Connor Bramwell. To make room on the roster, forward Andrew Shewfelt has been released.
Bramwell, 24, joins the Oilers after a successful college career with the University of Guelph, compiling 64 points (25G, 39A) in 56 games.
“Connor had a successful junior and college career,” said head coach Rob Murray “A detailed player, he came highly recommended from Joel Bouchard, who coached him in the QMJHL before taking over the San Diego job.”
Prior to playing at the University of Guelph, The Hamilton, ON native spent three seasons in the QMJHL. A 5’11, 190 lbs. winger, Bramwell notched 116 points (52G, 64A) in 168 games with Blainville-Boisbriand and Drummondville.
Andrew Shewfelt registered two goals and three assists in 24 games with the Oilers after being acquired in a trade with Wichita, where the 5’10 forward logged four goals and two assists in 31 games.
