Tulsa sends Christophe Lalancette to Orlando in exchange for Kyle Rankin.

TULSA, OK – The Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s St. Louis Blues, and Head Coach Rob Murray announced Tuesday the team has acquired forward Kyle Rankin from the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for forward Christophe Lalancette.

Rankin, 25, skated in 59 games for Orlando in 2017-18, compiling 8 points (2g, 6a). As a rookie in 2016-17, the Kanata, Ontario native posted 23 points (6g, 17a) in 68 games with the Elmira Jackals. Prior to turning pro, Rankin spent four seasons at Princeton University, where he was named the team’s captain as a senior.

Lalancette, 24, spent his first three pro seasons in Tulsa, recording 74 points (23g, 51a) in 147 games from 2015-18. The Roberval, Quebec native’s 2017-18 season was cut short after just 15 games due to an injury last November.

Earlier in the summer, the Oilers completed a separate trade with the Solar Bears sending forward Alexandre Ranger to Orlando for defenseman Adam Phillips.

The Oilers host the Idaho Steelheads to open the regular season on Saturday, October 13 at 7:05pm at the BOK Center. The two teams will complete Opening Weekend in Tulsa at 4:05pm Sunday, October 14, followed by a postgame skate for the fans with the Oilers players.
