FRIDAY, OCT. 21 – TULSA OILERS 6, INDY FUEL 1 (BOK Center)
The Tulsa Oilers earned a convincing 6-1 win over the Indy Fuel Friday in front of 5,592 fans at BOK Center to open the club’s 65th season of hockey. The Oilers special teams were pivotal in the victory, as Tulsa scored two power-play goals, a short-handed tally, and killed all five Indy power-plays. Adam Pleskach and Darcy Murphy each scored a pair of goals, and goaltender Jamie Phillips turned away 20 of 21 Fuel attempts.
SATURDAY, OCT. 22 – TULSA OILERS 5, ATLANTA GLADIATORS 4 (Shootout) (BOK Center)
Tulsa jumped out to a 3-1 lead by the middle of the second period, thanks to goals by Jiri Fronk, Pleskach, and Emerson Clark, but the Gladiators scored two goals late in the frame to even the score five seconds before the break. After Atlanta momentarily jumped into the lead, Tulsa forced overtime when Danick Paquette deflected in a power-play equalizer into the net in his Oilers debut. After a scoreless overtime Phillips stopped all six Atlanta attempts in the shootout, and Clark scored the winning goal for Tulsa.
SUNDAY, OCT. 23 – TULSA OILERS 4, ATLANTA GLADIATORS 3 (Overtime) (BOK Center)
Atlanta put one goal on the board in the first period and two more in the second to lead 3-1 after two stanzas. The only Oilers goal was scored by Clark on a short-handed 2-on-1. He would later factor into the scoring on all three Tulsa goals to complete the comeback, including Pleskach’s overtime game-winner with 41 seconds left.
