BROWN RETURNS FOR THIRD SEASON IN TULSA
Defenseman with 58 points in 126 games in Tulsa re-signs with the Oilers for 2017-18.
TULSA, OK – The Tulsa Oilers, proud member of the ECHL, and Head Coach Rob Murray announced Tuesday that defenseman Dennis Brown has re-signed for 2017-18, his third season with the club.
Brown, 27, recorded 23 points (4g, 19a) in 59 games for the Oilers in 2016-17. The Cypress, CA native had a career year in his first season in Tulsa in 2015-16, where he totaled 35 points (5g, 30a) in 67 games on his way to being named Tulsa’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Before coming to Tulsa, Brown started his professional career in 2014-15 with the Ontario Reign, who were in their final season in the ECHL. The 5’11, 185 lbs. defenseman recorded 15 points (1g, 14a) that season in 47 games with the Reign.
He played four years of college hockey for Western Michigan University from 2010-14, where he helped lead the Broncos to the CCHA conference championship his sophomore season in 2011-12.
The Tulsa Oilers begin their fourth ECHL season and tenth season of hockey at the BOK Center on Friday, October 13, when the club hosts the Kansas City Mavericks.
