BRENT GATES JR. RECALLED BY SAN DIEGO

Forward Brent Gates Jr has been recalled by his contracted club, the San Diego Gulls.

TULSA, OK— The Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL off affiliate of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, announced Tuesday that Gulls forward Brent Gates Jr. has been recalled by San Diego of the AHL.

Brent Gates Jr.,22, returns to San Diego after posting 14 points (6G, 8A) in 20 games with Tulsa. Gates has two points in seven career AHL games, all with the Gulls.  

Prior to turning pro, the 80th overall pick of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft (Anaheim Ducks) played at the University of Minnesota, tallying 85 points (42G, 43A) in 148 games for the Gophers. Gates was captain of the team in 2018-19.

The Grand Rapids, MI native played his junior hockey in the USHL, collecting 42 points (21G, 21A) in 83 games with the Green Bay Gamblers.

The Oilers host the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday at 7:05 p.m. before traveling to Wichita for a matchup at INTRUST Bank Arena.
